The Walking Dead’s Rick and Michonne Join Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight is expanding its roster with some iconic characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead. Rick Grimes and Michonne, the legendary duo known as The Ones Who Live, are now playable Survivors in the game. Alongside them, Daryl Dixon will make an appearance sporting a new Legendary Outfit.

Actors Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus are back to voice Rick and Daryl, bringing authenticity to the characters. The new chapter, titled Dead by Daylight: The Walking Dead, is already playable on the game’s PTB and will fully launch on July 29.
New Map Tile Inspired by The Walking Dead
When Rick or Michonne enter the Garden of Joy map, players will notice a fresh aesthetic upgrade. The map now includes iconic elements from the TV show, such as the prison from seasons three and four and the famous “Don’t Open. Dead Inside.” hospital doors from the pilot episode. This adds a deeper immersion for fans of the series.
Rick Grimes’ Unique Perks
- Apocalyptic Ingenuity: Search Chests to replace a Broken Pallet with a Fragile Pallet.
- Come and Get Me!: After unhooking a Survivor, you can crouch and activate an ability that silences nearby injured and dying Survivors and hides their Pools of Blood—at the cost of revealing your Aura and screaming briefly.
- Teamwork: Toughen Up: When a nearby Survivor stuns or blinds the Killer while you’re injured, your Grunts of Pain, Scratch Marks, and Pools of Blood are reduced for a time.
Michonne’s Distinct Perks
- Conviction: Heal Survivors to activate this perk. When in the Dying State, you can instantly recover briefly but become Broken if you don’t heal in time.
- Last Stand: After spending time in the Killer’s Terror Radius without being chased, you can Fast-Vault near the Killer to stun them.
- Teamwork: Toughen Up: Successfully pallet stun a Killer to grant nearby injured Survivors Endurance and reveal the Killer’s Aura.
Where to Play
Dead by Daylight is available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and mobile devices. The new Walking Dead chapter is already accessible on the PTB and will be released officially on July 29.
