Reliquary of Courage location in Ghost of Yōtei

The Reliquary of Courage sits somewhat out of the way: northeast of the Old Stables and west of the Yōtei’s Shadow Inn, tucked into a bend of the Yōtei River. As you approach, a golden bird will appear and guide you to the exact spot, and the game gives a short tutorial the first time you see one so you know to follow it.

When you arrive, you can talk to the woman standing by the statue for a bit of folklore. Then investigate the plaque in front of the statue to read the riddle exactly as written: “A boy was lost and alone/But wolves came from every corner to guide him/Their eyes gazing at the true Mount Yōtei.”

There are four wolf statues placed around the main shrine. The crucial clue is the last line of the riddle — they must face the real Mt. Yōtei. To solve it, stand at each wolf and press R2 to rotate that statue counterclockwise until its gaze points toward Mt. Yōtei. After you set the final statue, Atsu will automatically walk up to the main statue and collect the reward.

Completing the puzzle grants the Charm of Mt. Yōtei, or an upgrade to that charm if you’ve already completed another Reliquary. It’s a minor charm that reduces all incoming damage, making fights a bit less punishing for Atsu.

So, if you’re finding combat rough early on, it’s worth detouring back here for the charm. And, if you need more help with other Reliquaries or early quests, there are additional guides covering the Reliquary of Strength, Reliquary of Resilience, and early bounties.
