Silksong Players: Deliver Liquid Lacquer Safely — Best Bellhart → Mask Maker Route (360 Rosaries)

Need the easiest path to deliver the Liquid Lacquer in Hollow Knight: Silksong? This short guide lists the exact route from Bellhart to the Mask Maker on Mount Fay, plus the prerequisites and the reward. Follow the steps, prepare the right tools, and you’ll save yourself several frustrating retries.

Liquid Lacquer quest location

Start the quest by talking to the courier brothers, Tipp and Pill, in Bellhart. The delivery only appears after a few story tasks are done.

Specifically, you must have completed these quests first: My Missing Courier, My Missing Brother, and Queen’s Egg. In addition, you might need to finish the courier Rasher delivery in Great Taste of Pharloom if the lacquer delivery does not appear immediately.

All those prerequisite quests become available in Bellhart after you clear the town’s curse during the Threadspun Town quest.

Liquid Lacquer quest walkthrough

This is a delivery run from Bellhart to the Mask Maker on Mount Fay. Importantly, you cannot use fast travel while carrying the Liquid Lacquer. Also, the lacquer has a durability meter: avoid getting hit or charging into walls. If the meter reaches zero you must start the delivery again. On the bright side, the delivery is not timed, so you can take careful routes.

Before you attempt the run, make these preparations: collect the Faydown Cloak from the top of Mount Fay to get double jump; unlock the Grand Gate passage; open the route from the Citadel Spa Ventrica Station to The Slab; and equip the Ascendant’s Grip (sold by Jubilana in Songclave after finishing The Wandering Merchant) so you can cling to walls indefinitely. Also, practice the route once without the lacquer to confirm all doors and passages are open.

Recommended route: travel west from Bellhart through Shellwood, then go through the Grand Gate, up through the Choral Chambers, across The Slab, and finally into Mount Fay. Below are step-by-step directions.

Leave Bellhart and head west into Shellwood. Cross the main lake, then jump the smaller pond that has four white flowers. In the next room, take the upward path above the bench sign.

Watch out for poisonous flowers in this area. Take the top-left exit, then proceed west and pass the Shellwood Bellway Station. In Blasted Steps, at the first upward fork, take the path that leads you into a large sandy area.

Here, the wind grows stronger every few seconds and the screen darkens. Therefore, avoid jumping into the gusts, since gust-driven falls can drop you into sandy worm pits. Exit this zone via the top-right doorway to reach a large vertical chamber, and then leave that chamber through the top-right exit again to enter Grand Gate.

Move east into the grand chamber with the scale platforms. Jump to the balcony at the top-right of the room, then hit the wall to reveal a secret passage upward. Follow that passage up (hit the ceiling) to enter the Choral Chambers, and as you climb, stay left.

After leaving the vertical shaft, walk left past the Choral Chambers Ventrica Station. Continue upward until you reach the large bridge that leads into The Slab. Cross the bridge and drop down to The Slab Bellway Station.

From The Slab, continue west into Mount Fay. Instead of taking the low pond exit, jump up and use the slightly higher right-side exit. From there, parkour toward the top of Mount Fay. Near the top, at the wind current, veer left and then slide down the slope on the mountain’s left side.

Be ready to jump across spikes as you slide; you will land about halfway down the mountain. Do not drop further. Instead, take the narrow left path halfway down the slope — that path leads directly to the Mask Maker’s area.

Finally, speak with the Mask Maker to complete the delivery. The Mask Maker gives you the reward before you leave, so there is no need to return to Bellhart.

Liquid Lacquer quest reward

Completing the Liquid Lacquer delivery rewards you with 360 rosaries. The Mask Maker hands them to you at the end of the delivery, so you do not need to backtrack to Bellhart.

Also, progressing the main story can make other fights and routes easier. For example, after Threadspun Town you can upgrade your needle for more damage, which indirectly helps with future deliveries and tougher encounters.
