South Park Returns with Political Satire
After a two-week break, South Park’s new episode, “Got a Nut,” shifts focus from its previous Trump-centric jokes to lampoon Kristi Noem and ICE. The plot follows school counselor Mr. Mackey, who loses his job due to budget cuts and ends up joining ICE. Right away, the show highlights ICE as a chaotic and untrained force, making its opinion clear through sharp satire.
During his first day, Mackey and other new recruits are shown a training video. In this video, Noem welcomes them to ICE and then, in a direct nod to a real-life incident, shoots a puppy. Her face even starts to melt off on screen, only to be quickly fixed by a team of makeup artists and surgeons, referencing rumors about cosmetic enhancements.
ICE, Dora the Explorer, and Melting Faces
Next, Mackey and his fellow ICE agents are sent to their first assignment: a live performance of Dora the Explorer in downtown Denver. Noem is present again and repeats her earlier actions, including another dog shooting and a face-melting gag. The episode leans heavily into visual humor and absurd situations to get its points across.
Trump, Vance, and a Fantasy Island Reference
The story then takes Mackey to Mar-a-Lago, where Donald Trump wants to make him the new head of ICE. Trump says Noem’s face is “too freaky” for him. The scene at Mar-a-Lago is a parody of the classic TV show Fantasy Island, with J.D. Vance playing the role of Tattoo, the energetic sidekick. Vance’s most notable moment is offering to lube up Satan’s butthole for Trump, which causes Mackey to leave.

By the end, Noem’s face, now completely detached, crawls around the Mar-a-Lago dining room like a creature from Alien. It eventually latches onto another ICE agent, but with Mackey gone, Trump decides to keep Noem as the face of ICE.
Cartman’s “Master Debater” B-Plot
Meanwhile, there’s a side story where Eric Cartman becomes a “Master Debater,” parodying online alt-right influencers. The subplot adds more laughs and ties into the episode’s themes about modern toxic masculinity.
What’s Next for South Park?
Overall, “Got a Nut” continues South Park’s tradition of sharp, irreverent humor and social commentary. While the episode isn’t as shocking as the season premiere, it keeps up the momentum and delivers plenty of memorable moments. Fans can look forward to episode 3, airing on August 14.
