Step Into the Velociraptor Kitchen — Jurassic Park: Survival Lets You Relive the Movie’s Scariest Scene

Saber Interactive has posted new footage from its upcoming single-player RPG, Jurassic Park: Survival, and the clip gives fans fresh looks at the story, the dinosaurs, and how the team aimed to recreate the film’s tension. Experience the terror for yourself, and watch how the game puts you into some very familiar — and dangerous — moments from the original movie.

  • What the footage shows: unseen game scenes and narrative beats
  • How the game ties into the 1993 film and the protagonist’s situation
  • The famous velociraptor kitchen scene recreated for players
  • Authenticity efforts and other behind-the-scenes details
  • Platforms confirmed and release status

What the new footage shows

The video, uploaded to the official Jurassic Park: Survival YouTube channel, delivers short but concrete glimpses of gameplay and narrative. For example, the game follows Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist left behind on Isla Nublar one day after the events of the 1993 film. Consequently, the situation is simple: Maya must survive on an island full of dangerous dinosaurs while trying to find a way off.

Moreover, the footage teases previously unseen sequences. Notably, the developers recreated the film’s velociraptor kitchen chase so players can experience that scene from a first-person perspective. As creative director Oliver Hollis-Leck explained: “When we were deciding how to introduce the raptors, one thing that jumped out to us was, ‘What if we could make the player experience what Lex and Tim did in the kitchen?'”

Gameplay, authenticity, and behind the scenes

Saber Interactive said it used props, set pieces, and concept art from the original film to make the game feel authentic. The behind-the-scenes footage also includes a clip where Maya fails to escape a T. rex and is eaten — a filmed sequence that the team and associated creatives highlighted.

Jurassic World project executive Lisa St. Armand commented directly on that sequence: “Can’t wait to come face-to-face with the T. rex,” St. Armand said. “I’m going to purposely lose, so that I can get eaten by the T. rex.”

In addition, Saber’s CEO framed the project around the film’s influence. Matthew Karch said: “We were inspired by the original film,” Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch explained. “All the encounters are gonna be amazing, the interactions with the dinosaurs, to see them on the big screen… and it’s something else when you can actually take part and interact with them in a meaningful way.”

Platforms and release status

The studio has confirmed that Jurassic Park: Survival will launch on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. However, Saber Interactive has not announced a release date yet, so the timeline for when players can try these sequences themselves remains unknown.
