Messenger is a browser-based game by abeto. It places the player on a very small planet and asks them to make deliveries for various residents. The presentation pairs minimal, indie-style visuals with quiet, lo-fi music to create a relaxed atmosphere.
Gameplay and movement
The core activity is simple: pick up an item, walk around the globe, and deliver it to another character. Because the game’s world is so small, a single lap around the planet only takes a few minutes. Consequently, sessions can be short yet satisfying.
Movement is primarily on foot, and the space bar enables jumping. Moreover, using the jump mechanic allows for a surprising amount of parkour across the planet’s surfaces, which adds some verticality to otherwise straightforward navigation.

Characters and social features
NPCs deliver most of the game’s content through short, often humorous requests. For example, one delivery chain involves a worker who wants to undo a scathing letter he already sent; when the player speaks to the boss, the boss responds, “Maybe he’s manager material after all,” he says.
Other players appear in the same world while you play, creating a light multiplayer presence. Interaction with them is limited to emoji only; therefore, players can signal intentions or reactions without text chat. For instance, repeated use of a particular emoji can quickly convey displeasure or playfulness.
