Swim‑Ring Psyduck Debuts in Pokémon Go — Shiny Odds Increased, Double Candy and $4.99 Timed Research

Pokémon Go is running the “Pokémon Concierge Celebration” event from Sept. 9–14. During the event you’ll see doubled candy for catching Pokémon, your buddy will bring items more often, and a swim-ring Psyduck debuts with an increased chance to be shiny.

Pokémon Go ‘Pokémon Concierge Celebration’ event Timed Research and reward

There are two Timed Research tracks available during the event: a free set called Pokémon Concierge: Pool Party, and a premium set called Beachside. The premium Timed Research costs $4.99. Notably, both tracks reward encounters with the swim-ring Psyduck, and the premium track also gives a cosmetic pose.

Pokémon Concierge: Pool Party (free)

  • Take a snapshot of a wild Pokémon — 15 Poké Balls
  • Catch 10 Pokémon — Mudkip encounter
  • Take 5 snapshots of wild Pokémon — 10 Great Balls
  • Catch 15 Pokémon — Panpour encounter
  • Take 10 snapshots of wild Pokémon — 10 Razz Berries
  • Catch 20 Pokémon — Pansage encounter
  • Take 20 snapshots of wild Pokémon — 10 Pinap Berries
  • Catch 25 Pokémon — Pansear encounter
  • Take 35 snapshots of wild Pokémon — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Catch 35 Pokémon — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter

Rewards: Psyduck (swim ring) encounter, 3,000 Stardust.

Beachside (premium)

  • Take a snapshot of a wild Pokémon — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Catch 5 Pokémon — 15 Razz Berries
  • Take a snapshot with your buddy — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Catch 10 Pokémon — 10 Pinap Berries
  • Play with your buddy — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Catch 15 Pokémon — 5 Golden Razz Berries
  • Feed your buddy — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Catch 20 Pokémon — 15 Great Balls

Spinning PokéStops during the event can yield specific Field Research tasks. These tasks give encounters with various Pokémon when completed.

  • Catch 10 Pokémon — encounter with Corphish, Sealeo, or Dedenne
  • Take 3 snapshots of wild Pokémon — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter
  • Win a raid — Psyduck (swim ring) encounter

Pokémon Go ‘Pokémon Concierge Celebration’ event boosted spawns

Several Pokémon will appear more often in the wild during the event. Psyduck (swim ring) is included, and Niantic notes there is an increased chance to find the swim-ring Psyduck shiny.

Additionally, player reports list more spawning Pokémon. According to player reports on Reddit, these include Eevee, Wooper, Corphish, Pansage, Pansear, Panpour, and Dedenne. Note that only the regional Pan-flavors (Pansage/Pansear/Panpour) spawn in their usual regions.

If you’re chasing the swim-ring Psyduck or collecting event rewards, plan your play during Sept. 9–14. Moreover, remember that Niantic did not publish a full spawn list, so additional spawns may appear based on player observations.
