The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in action! This time, their latest game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, is making its way to Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X. Previously available only on Windows PC, the game will hit both new platforms on Thursday, August 14. What’s New in Tactical Takedown?
Tactical Takedown is all about strategy. You control one Turtle at a time as they sneak through sewers, subways, rooftops, and the busy streets of New York City. Each Turtle has a unique play style, which keeps the combat and movement feeling fresh throughout the game. Plus, the story dives into their personalities—fans of Raphael, especially, will find some standout moments.
Introducing Remix Mode
Alongside the console release, a brand-new Remix Mode is coming to all versions of the game. According to the official press release, this mode will add new enemy types, tougher battles, and even more options to customize your Turtles’ builds. While the base game isn’t super difficult, some of those Foot ninjas can already pack a punch, so Remix Mode is sure to keep you on your toes.
About the Developers
The game comes from Strange Scaffold, a studio known for its creative and quick-to-play indie hits like Clickolding, I Am Your Beast, and El Paso, Elsewhere. In an interview from May, creative director Xalavier Nelson Jr. said, “I feel like it’s more crucial than ever to make games efficiently and quickly, because as we can see from where the rest of the industry is at, you almost can’t afford to do otherwise.”
