Discover The Witcher: Legacy

While The Witcher 4 won’t be out until at least 2027, fans don’t have to wait to explore new stories from the franchise. Go On Board and CD Projekt Red have teamed up again to bring us The Witcher: Legacy, a cooperative board game that takes you back to the events leading to the collapse of Geralt’s School of the Wolf.

Players will assume the roles of witchers who are on a mission to uncover a dark conspiracy threatening their order. The game features multiple branching scenarios, monster battles, and exploration across the kingdom of Kaedwen. It’s designed for one to four players, making it perfect for both solo sessions and group play.

Behind the Scenes

Łukasz Woźniak, co-founder of Go On Board and lead game designer, shared, “Over the years of working on The Witcher board games, we’ve built a huge and incredibly engaged fanbase. We’ve been working on The Witcher: Legacy for over three years, during which our main focus has been listening to the needs and expectations of our community, to create the biggest and best Witcher experience a board game can offer.”

CD Projekt Red’s vice president of business development, Jan Rosner, added, “It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to expand a universe beloved by many and dive deeper into events that haven’t yet been fully explored in the games or books.”

Connections to The Witcher Universe

The story of the School of the Wolf’s destruction was previously explored in Netflix’s anime The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which focused on Vesemir, Geralt’s mentor. Fans can hope to see Vesemir as a playable character here, similar to his role in Go On Board’s competitive game The Witcher: Path of Destiny, released earlier this year.

Go On Board has a proven track record working with CD Projekt Red, having successfully adapted Cyberpunk 2077 into a board game that raised over $9.5 million through crowdfunding. They’re also developing a board game based on the popular fighting game franchise Tekken.
