Journey to Tau: What to Expect
At this year’s TennoCon, developer Digital Extremes teased The Old Peace, an expansion that will finally send players to Tau — a star system long shrouded in mystery within Warframe’s lore. Tau is often referenced as a legendary destination, tied to a failed mission that shapes much of the game’s overarching narrative. However, the exact place of this new chapter in the timeline remains under wraps.
The trailer hints at the Operator undergoing some kind of memory experiment, alongside Lotus and Loid. We catch glimpses of a childhood Sentient friend named Adis, but a rebellion on one of Tau’s moons disrupts this peaceful moment, setting the stage for intense new story developments.

New Warframe and Quests on the Horizon
Along with the new star system, The Old Peace will introduce a brand-new Warframe named Uriel. Players will also experience a standalone quest revolving around the “Devil’s Triad,” which features Uriel and the Protoframes of Harrow and Wisp. This fresh content aims to expand the universe and provide more depth to the gameplay.
Before the big expansion drops, Digital Extremes has another treat planned for fall 2025: a quest called The Teacher. Developed in collaboration with Sumo Digital, this quest is designed to help players better understand modding — one of Warframe’s most crucial yet complex systems.
Looking Ahead
Fans eager for more can expect further announcements during Digital Extremes’ October devstream, where additional information about Warframe’s future will be revealed.
