A Story Set in the Gen Z Lane

The film centers on Billy 5000, a teenage gig worker who’s trying to earn $5,000 before New Year’s Eve. Jack Corbett, host of Planet Money, provides the voice for Billy. Inspired by Real Life and Virtual Spaces

Julian Glander has mentioned that his inspirations include wandering through Google Street View, enduring long suburban winters, and reflecting on the pressures of modern capitalism. Using the 3D modeling tool Blender, he managed to create the film in just 90 days. The result is a film that feels very different from big studio animations you might be used to.

He would sing like Machine Gun Kelly.” Glander called this “an amazing insight” and “insanely accurate understanding of the character.”
